Secondary Lead: Scarcity of Circulating Supply of Secondary Refined Lead, Most Smelters Have No Spot Orders Available for Sale [SMM Lead Midday Review]

The SMM #1 lead average price remained flat at 16,950 yuan/mt today. Mainstream secondary refined lead supplies in east and north China were at a discount of 50-0 yuan/mt against the SMM #1 lead average price, while discounts exceeded 100 yuan/mt in Guangxi, Hunan, and nearby regions. The mainstream tax-exclusive prices ranged from 15,750 to 15,850 yuan/mt. Market procurement activity increased significantly today, with scarce circulating supplies of secondary refined lead. Most smelters had no spot orders available for sale, while some held back goods anticipating price increases. The procurement sentiment for secondary refined lead was 1.14 today, and the sales sentiment was 1.21 (historical data can be queried in the database).
